Today 165 players would get shortlisted for auction in the second edition of Women’s Premier League in mumbai. Among the five squads there are around 30 vacancies, and in that only 9 player slots are available for foreign players.
Let's take a look at those players who could most probably get auctioned at high prices.
First comes those players who were forgotten for a long period of time but due to their recent performances have managed to pique the interest of selectors. Chamari Athapaththu was ignored after the previous WPL and didnt found any takers in the Women’s Hundred or in the Women’s CPL. But as she had previously proved her worth in her previous games and even when she was called as an injury replacement at Sydney Thunder, she topped the league-phase run charts, went with nine wickets and even managed to win the Player of the Tournament title. The kind of skill set she possesses makes her the most ideal fit to become the highest purchase at this auction.
Danni Wyatt who just had a 150th T20I of her career has also not been on the fields for quite a while but is now all set to make her comeback and has even lowered her prices which could result in her getting more bids.
