In a commanding performance at the U19 Asia Cup 2023, the Pakistan U19 cricket team secured their third consecutive victory, securing a spot in the semi-finals as Group A leaders. Facing Afghanistan in the United Arab Emirates on December 12, Pakistan showcased a formidable batting prowess, amassing a total of 303 runs in the first innings. Opening batsmen Shamyl Hussain, Shahzaid Khan, and Riaz Ullah each contributed half-centuries to the impressive score.

Maintaining their momentum, Pakistan's bowlers successfully defended the formidable total, restricting Afghanistan to 220 runs and securing a resounding 83-run victory. Meanwhile, India rebounded from their previous defeat against Pakistan by dominating Nepal, clinching a 10-wicket triumph. Raj Limbani's exceptional bowling performance, claiming 7 wickets for just 13 runs, led to Nepal being bowled out for a mere 52 runs in 22.1 overs.

Reflecting on their earlier loss to Pakistan, India's captain Uday Saharan highlighted the challenges faced by his team due to the seam and swing conditions during the morning session. India struggled to post a competitive total in the first innings, managing only 259 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. Despite their efforts in the second innings, the Indian bowlers couldn't find the same favorable conditions that troubled them earlier.

Pakistan's Azan Awais emerged as a standout performer, scoring an unbeaten century (105 off 130 balls) in the decisive match against India. Captain Saad Baig also played a crucial role with the bat, remaining unbeaten alongside Awais. The victory solidified Pakistan's position in the tournament, setting the stage for an exciting semi-final showdown.
