"BCCI may not allow Chinese brands to Sponsor"

BCCI IPL

For the upcoming IPL, BCCI is looking for a title sponsor but this time its rules and conditions have shown reluctance to allow any company or brand to bid that doesn’t have friendly connections to India. Although it's not mentioned clearly that chinese companies won’t be allowed but after the negative experience with Vivo, a chinese company its obvious to say that the odds are not in their favour. It all started when Vivo chose to quit the five year sponsorship agreement after the dispute between Chinese and Indian troops along the Sino-Indian border; and the rights were given way to the Tata group. Apart from this, BCCI has stated specific criteria for ineligibility in which those companies who deal with fantasy games, sportswear, gambling firms, and cryptocurrency are rejected. The need for this title sponsorship has arisen because the previous deal with the Tata Group has come to an end after the last season. From the last two years the Tata Group has been paying the reserve price of Rs. 360 crores for the rights. The ITT document which is the essential requirement to participate in the bidding process will be available for purchase till 8th January. And the bidding is said to be placed around 13th January.
