India Afghanistan

In an exciting match Yesterday, India secured the victory against Afghanistan in the third and final T20 International, marked by two very intensive super overs that kept the cricket enthusiasts on the edge of their respective seats. Following a formidable target of 212 runs, Afghanistan tried managing to level the score in both super overs, but India clinched the victory in the end.

Indian Skipper Rohit Sharma's exceptional performance, followed by his fifth T20 Century and Rinku Singh's impressive half century led India to a commanding total of 212/4 in 20 overs. This achievement was particularly remarkable as India found themselves in a precarious position at 22 for four in the fifth over. Captain Rohit Sharma's unbeaten 121 off 69 balls, associated with Rinku Singh's dynamic 69 off 39 deliveries, managed a remarkable comeback for the Indian team.

In response, Afghanistan was in equally spirit, with Gulbadin Naib playing an important role in their comeback, scoring a quickfire 55 off 23 balls. Despite Afghanistan's scintillating play, they fell short in the second super over, unable to chase down the target of 12 runs set by India.

Fareed Ahmad Malik was the standout bowler for Afghanistan, finishing with impressive figures of 3/20. His efforts, however, were overshadowed by the formidable partnership between Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh.

The early stages of the match saw India lose four quick wickets to Afghanistan's pacers, with Fareed Ahmad dismissing Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, and Sanju Samson. Notably, both Kohli and Samson were sent back to the pavilion for a golden duck. Azmatullah Omarzai further added to India's early woes by dismissing Shivam Dube for just 1 run.

Rohit Sharma's record-breaking fifth T20 century and Rinku Singh's important half-century led India to this clean sweep victory, solidifying Sharma's position as the only batter with five centuries in T20 cricket. The thrilling contest showcased the resilience and skill of both teams, providing cricket enthusiasts with a memorable spectacle.
