"Australia Dominates West Indies in Adelaide Test"

Australia displayed an exceptional performance in the first Test Match against West Indies, clinching a resounding 10 wicket victory at Adelaide Oval. The match, spanning just over two days, saw notable contributions from Travis Head and Josh Hazlewood.

Head's remarkable century in the first innings granted Australia a crucial 94-run lead. Subsequently, Hazlewood's outstanding fifer in the second innings left West Indies struggling, eventually folding for a mere 120 runs. Hazlewood's career-best figures of 9 for 79 reflected his mastery, especially with crucial breakthroughs during the final session of day 2.

On day 3, West Indies, resuming at 73/6, faced early setbacks as Mitchell Starc and Hazlewood swiftly claimed three wickets in the initial six overs. Shamar Joseph emerged as a bright spot for the visitors, showcasing batting skills with three boundaries. However, Nathan Lyon's spin dismissed the promising 24-year-old, limiting West Indies to 120.

With a modest target of 26, Australia's openers, Steve Smith and Usman Khawaja, aimed to swiftly conclude the match. Khawaja's unfortunate retirement hurt after an awkward bounce took the ball to his helmet, but Marnus Labuschagne sealed the victory.

Australia's decision to bowl first paid off as they restricted West Indies to 188 in the opening innings. Pat Cummins and Hazlewood excelled with four wickets each. Despite a challenging reply, Head's aggressive play helped Australia post 129 on the board.

While debutant Joseph impressed with a fifer in his maiden Test, Australia's clinical performance, led by Head and Hazlewood, ultimately dominated the match. The teams will meet again at the Gabba on January 25 for the next encounter in this exciting series.
