India commenced their Super Six campaign with a resounding victory, defeating New Zealand by a staggering 214 runs in the ongoing ICC U19 Cricket World Cup at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein on Tuesday. Opting to field after winning the toss, New Zealand faced a competitive first innings as India posted a total of 295/8 in 50 overs.

Facing an early setback with opener Arshin Kulkarni departing for just nine runs, India's Adarsh Singh and Musheer Khan took charge, stabilizing the innings. Adarsh contributed a half-century before falling to James Cumming, while Musheer Khan showcased his form by reaching a century, scoring 131 off 126 balls.

Captain Uday Saharah and Avanish Rao made valuable contributions, guiding India to a challenging total. However, New Zealand's Mason Clarke stood out in the bowling department, claiming four crucial wickets. In the pursuit of 296 runs, New Zealand's batting lineup crumbled, succumbing to Saumy Pandey's four-wicket haul. Captain Oscar Thomas Jackson top-scored for New Zealand with 19 runs.

Raj Limbani and Musheer Khan's two-wicket performances further hindered New Zealand's efforts as they were eventually bowled out for 81 runs in 28.1 overs. India's dominant performance sets a strong tone for their Super Six journey in the U19 Cricket World Cup.
